This process applies to all wrapper types and describes how to purchase an individual asset/instrument, there is a separate article describing how to make an investment in a model portfolio.
You can find our Best Execution Policy here.
- Go to the Adviser Portal and log in.
- Locate your client in the system, either via the Client tab in the top menu, or by using the Client Search function, and open their client record.
- Open the relevant account, then click on Account Action and Invest.
- If your client holds a Model or has an Investment Strategy on the account the system will automatically pull through these funds to invest. We would recommend rebalancing the account to bring the cash in line with the investment strategy
- If the client is in a Bespoke investment strategy it will allow you to add to the existing investments and also add further investments.
NB please be aware that if you add more funds to invest in via this journey, and then an automatic rebalance takes place, the funds will rebalance into the original investment strategy that's listed on the account details.
- Enter the £ amount that is to be invested in each instrument, bearing in mind the available cash figure at the top of the screen. The KIID document(s) will be available to download from this page and the total cost for all orders will be summarized at the bottom.
- Click Review and a summary of the selections will be presented as well as details of the initial and ongoing charges, average annual charge and illustrative, projected and total charges over 5 years.
- Click Submit and a pending investment order is generated. This can be seen under Pending Transactions section in both the Adviser and Client portals.
- Orders are routed to market and a contract note is made available to the client in the Client Portal within 24 hours of the order being executed. Contract notes are also accessible within the Adviser portal in the Notifications tab.
- After the trade settles it no longer shows under Pending transactions. The new asset(s) will be listed in the client's portfolio under the Investments heading.
