How to create a Trust Client
You can open a General Investment Account (GIA) held in the name of a trust.
We only support the following types of trusts, Discretionary, Bare, Accumulation, Interest in possession, Settlor interested and Mixed.
To open the account your client will need to sign the terms and conditions - Platform Terms & Conditions.
Before you start the following details will be required during the account opening process.
- Trust must be registered in the UK
- Bank Details
- Name, address, date of birth and role of any stakeholders of the company / trust (see more on stakeholders below)
Please note all Stakeholders who will be instructing account actions and beneficiaries must be AML checked and will need to be created as client before you can complete the application.
How to open a Trust
- Go to the Adviser Portal and log in.
- Via the Clients tab in the top menu bar in the top right-hand corner, navigate to the create tab and select trust client.
- Complete all mandatory fields with adviser and Trust details
- Add all Stakeholders to the trust account by following the steps. All Stakeholders will require an individual client record (For more information please refer to our Stakeholder rules guide - Stakeholder Rules
- Add bank details
- Complete the declaration
- Click Review to double check that all the information is correct and submit the Trust account.
Once the account has been created and is in a pending status, please email us with the following:
- Client ID
- Certified copy of the trust deed
- Certified bank statement in the name of the trust
- Terms and conditions signed by all persons instructing on the account
Söderberg will conduct a know your customer (KYC) check and verify the account. Once verified Söderberg will inform you the account is active.
