Alerts and warnings for each calculation are triggered where:
- We don’t support offshore non-reporting assets.
- Some of the assets on our platform can have missing book costs due to:- User error when registering the asset to our platform
- This information not being provided when the asset is transferred onto our platform

- If there are corporate actions we don’t support
- Transfer transactions that indicate potential off-platform activity.
Alerts
Unsupported assets
This type of alert will appear because asset types other than equity or reporting funds are not supported at this stage.
Here are the assets that CGT is calculated for where no error is displayed:
- Equities
- UK fund
- Exchange traded fund (ETF)
- Investment trusts
If the asset is not one of the assets above, we will not run CGT calculations and we show an error message explaining this.
Here is an example of the alert wording that you could see:
Missing book costs
The capital gains calculations are dependent on having the correct book cost.
In this instance we’ll display the calculated value, but with a warning message that shows the problem transactions.
Here is an example of the wording that you could see:
Unsupported corporate action
Where a position has a transaction our CGT calculations doesn’t support, i.e. a corporate action which leads to matching across 2 ISINs, we won’t match across ISINs.
In this instance we'll show the calculated value, but with a warning message that shows the problem transactions.
Here is an example of the wording that you could see:
Transfer activity
We can’t see actions that have taken place on other platforms and this means any transferred-in asset may have a buy or sell we need to match but are unable to.
In this instance we'll show the calculated value, but with a warning message that shows the problem transactions.
