Once a pending client has passed the automated anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) checks, they will receive an email inviting them to set a password. The link in this email is valid for five days.
The client should select the link in the email and create a password.
If the client does not create a password within five days, they will need to request a password reset email and use the link in that email to create one.
Log in to the client portal
Once the password has been created, the client can select Log in. They will also receive a separate email inviting them to access the client portal; either option will take them to the same login page.
Set up multi-factor authentication (MFA)
The client will be asked whether they would like to set up MFA. They can select either Yes please, set up now or No thanks, remind me later.
If they select Yes please, set up now, they can choose from the authentication methods supported by their device.
Authenticator app
The client should ensure they have an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, installed on their device. They should then select Google Authenticator or similar.
The client should open their authenticator app and add a new account. They can scan the QR code displayed on screen or enter the setup code manually. The app will then generate a one-time code, which should be entered on the platform.
Fingerprint or facial recognition
The client should select Fingerprint or Face Recognition, followed by Continue.
The option shown will depend on the client’s device and security settings. Once completed successfully, they will see a confirmation that the device has been registered.
Security key or passkey
The client should select Security Key, followed by Use security key.
The options available will depend on the client’s device. They should select the appropriate option and follow the on-screen instructions.
Once authentication has been completed, the client can select Back to Log in. They may be asked to enter their email address and password again, or the platform may log them in automatically.
Choosing “No thanks, remind me later”
The client can continue to log in using their registered email address and password. They will be prompted to set up MFA again after 30 days.
MFA is not mandatory at this stage. A client who does not wish to set it up can select No thanks, remind me later and continue to the platform.
Review details and accept the terms
The client will also be asked to add their bank details if these have not already been provided.
If the client adds bank details while accepting the terms, an automated bank account verification check will be carried out. If the check is successful, the client’s status will update to Active. If further information is required, we will contact you and the client will remain Pending until the checks are complete.
Once the required terms have been accepted and all relevant checks are complete, the client’s status will update to Active. They will then be taken to the client portal, where they can view their accounts and investments.
