No – clients must be a UK resident in order to open an account with us, and there is validation in the system to prevent an overseas client being set up.
Dual resident clients, or clients who only spend part of the year in the UK, can be accepted providing that the account is registered at the client’s UK address.
If a client relocates outside of the UK later on, there are some circumstances under which they will be allowed to maintain their existing accounts, but no further accounts will be allowed to be opened. This will ultimately depend on where the client has moved to – if it is the US or a high risk jurisdiction we will no longer be able to offer them account.
If your client is moving overseas, please contact us on servicecentre@soderbergpartners.com to inform us of the client ID and please confirm where they will be moving to. We will then advise you of the options available to you and the client.
