This article outlines the process for creating an Advisory model on the Soderberg Platform. Advisory models may be linked and rebalanced on an individual wrapper basis, but please note it is not possible to trigger bulk rebalances.
You must have the necessary permissions to be able to create models in the platform. Your Implementation Consultant will discuss this with you when setting up your initial access, but if you are an existing firm and you do not have access to the Models tab, please email servicecentre@soderbergpartners.com, and we'll be glad to help you.
- Log in to the Soderberg platform and go to Tools and select Models:
- Select Add new model:
- Enter the model details as follows:
Field | Mandatory | Notes |
Name | Yes | We recommend that you make this easily identifiable so that it is easy to locate in the new client/account details pages. This field can be edited after the creation of the model. |
Risk Rating | Yes | For internal information purposes only – not visible to end clients. |
Products | Yes | This cannot be amended once the model is created so please ensure you select all the possible product types you may wish this model to be available for. |
Aim | No | For internal information purposes only – not visible to end clients. |
Commentary | No | For internal information purposes only – not visible to end clients. |
URL | No | Link to external information hosted off-platform; for internal use only – not visible to end clients. |
Suspend rebalances on this model | Yes | When selected, this prevents new investments to the model. This is not relevant for advisory models and is due to be removed from this journey. You should always select No to this option. |
Available to business/adviser | Yes | Select which IFA's should have access to the model. If you select the firm record, all advisers within the firm will be able to access the model. You can add additional IFA's to the model after creation, but you cannot remove access within the UI. You would need to contact the Service Centre team to action this. |
Search and add investments | Yes | Here you add the assets and the allocations. If these do not add up to 100%, the difference will be allocated to cash. Please note there is no minimum cash requirement so this can be 0%. This cannot be edited once the model has been created - you would need to clone the model and create a new version. |
Portfolio Asset Mix | Yes | Used to determine growth projections for product illustrations. This again cannot be edited once the model has been created - you would need to clone the model and create a new version. |
- Click Review, check the details entered carefully, and then click Submit to create the model. This will then show in the platform as Active:
- This model will now show within the illustration tool, the 'Create New Account' journey, and you will also be able to select this as the investment strategy in the 'Edit Client Details' process.
