A primary client is the client who is named as the ‘lead’ client with the ceding provider.
The electronic transfer form asks you to select who the ‘primary client’ is with the ceding provider. This is so that we can instruct the request correctly to avoid a potential mismatch of client information.
It’s also worth bearing in mind that the address that pulls through automatically onto the electronic transfer form for a joint GIA is for the lead client on the Soderberg platform. So, if the primary client with the ceding provider is different to the lead client with Soderberg and the two clients live at different addresses, you need to make sure that you update the address on the transfer form accordingly before submitting.
